Memory

by Court   Mar 26, 2014

A past that haunts me
whispered words echo in my ear
remind me of those few years

beloved sights fogged by memory
tainted by pain
brought back by the strain

a smell i know
once longed for
striving to be forgotten

senses betray me
mind hates me
make the memory fade

familiar things once brought comfort
now confusion and pain
it is their reign

home no longer belongs to me
it is but a distant memory
path ahead holds no glory

hope and hurt
love and rain
mix together once again.
