Pains lost long ago
Return evermore
Stabbing at us all
None can resist their bitter lure

From relationships gone sour
To the betrayal of a friend
All face them in their own hour
None can stop that which is without end

Anyone can try to smile
All of us can pretend
None wins when it comes to denial
None can ignore the wounds that rend

They rip hearts to pieces
They leave us all sore
The pains are felt always
None can resist their bitter lure
