You could've Been the Perfect Man

by Everlasting   Apr 16, 2014

Oceans - with its waves, shook our legs.
I fell for you and on you.
At that moment, the sun arose in our chests.
Winds smeared my hair upon your forehead,
It was heaven.
The sand in your spine. My lips an inch apart
from your lips.
Our lives intertwined with a kiss.

It must have been the rain -
a priest baptizing the future of our days.
Our spirits as bread. Our wet skins as wine.
Yet I never drank. . .
Inebriation took over my head.
In an abandoned chapel camouflage as a beach,
I felt drunk. Unstable. In ecstasy.
I could not think. I walked away.

I ran away...

A boat, in the shore, called out my name.
Your hands chased my waist.
I resisted. I fought your arms. I cried.
I gave into your warmth.
I felt dizzy. I felt lost.
But the oceans - with its waves, shook our legs.
I fell for you and on you, again.
At that moment, the sun set in my mind.

"I never drank,
for me, it was my first time,
but for you...

You had a bar awaiting for you in your house."

No doubt,

You could have been the perfect man,

if the only wine that touched your lips,
would have been mine.
