Desperate

by Yakari Gabriel   Apr 22, 2014

I do not know if the singing of a Trupial truly means
good news, I do not know if there is something
more beautiful than the way the horizon opens up
its mouth at six and by six thirty has already
swallowed the whole sun, I do not know if there's
Something more pure than a child that smiles between
his sleep or something as intact as someone that hasn't
loved, if there's enough culture in my throat to
keep up with all this tradition
or enough bravery in my backbone to not keep going
but paper, I'll be honest. I'll confess.
I'd sell my soul just to be somewhere else

Yaki, this piece left me in awe.
Sometimes, where we are is not where we want to be and we have many questions, so many thoughts that we can't comprehend why we are at a certain place or point in our lives.

I've spent a lot of time recently trying to find answers to questions and wishing I was someplace else but I do believe we are meant to be and meant to experience certain things in order to grow and learn even if we don't know why.

I loved the imagery and the way this was written. The uncertainty of life and situations is difficult but we were meant to be.

Amazing as always, as are you :) xx
