Your Garden

by shadow   May 17, 2014

I inherited your struggles
Weighing heavily on each shoulder
Marching on through this fog
As the world grows dark and colder

This weight becomes unbearable
The ground swallowing me whole
Tumbling down into your abyss
My scream pierces into your soul

I land on the soft ground below
My eyes searching to find what's left in yours
I can hear the demons laughing
Stirring old memories behind closed doors

I inherited your pain again
Weighing heavily on my mind
Marching on like a soldier
Never sure what else I'll find

These years just keep on going
As your problems become mine too
Growing like unwanted weeds in a garden
Trying to pull out these roots in you
