We Don't Break

by UtterlyAlive   Jun 8, 2014

We hurt,
And we bleed,
And we cry,
But we don't break.

Because breaking,
Is weakness,
And weakness,
Is our fall to destruction.

When we self destruct,
We're unfixable,
Just shattered pieces of who we are,
Decaying into nothing

Leaving us
alone,
And dark,
And helpless.

Where we spiral down,
So close to death,
That our minds feel as cold,
As our crumbling hearts.

And we learn the true meaning,
Of rejection.
And the bittersweet taste,
Of being utterly alone.

We grasp at the night,
Searching endlessly,
For any sign,
Of possible comfort.

Leaving us clinging,
To a hope that doesn't exist,
And to a light,
That is being swallowed up by shadows

And so we allow ourselves to hurt,
And to bleed,
But NEVER
to break.

To every deed, there's a purpose. What brings us pain, makes us stronger.
