Pastures

by PAUL HEWSON   Jun 12, 2014

Why so sad my love ?
Does the wind bring the voices of the dissapeared
were they taken from you
stolen ?
Did you give them away
In your futile search for all the green meadows and
pastures of promise

why you weep my love
does the rain beating the ground make you wish
to be hand in hand
in love
with the one you gave away
with your endless quest of love ever after
the promised pasture ?

your body shakes my love
caught in the throws of self imposed solitude
nothing was stolen
taken
you gave them away
whilst searching , hoping , looking , wanting
but never loving
never ever loving

Wow Paul, this is a wonderful write yet so sad in the fact that I can completely relate to what I think you are trying to portray here.

Many people will love the wrong kind of person for so long that their ability to love again is completely tainted.

The metaphors you used are great. Em

Well this was a tearjerker and hit home with me. Paul I can't express how powerful this poem is and the elegance within makes is pretty with the nature tones and metaphors. The message is that of always searching for love and needing more but never realizing it's right in front of you.. that is how I took this piece.. truly a lovely write by you!
