No More

No more

And in the darkness do you see
just what it is you do to me?
Or will you turn and walk away
forget me for another day?
And if I fade away from grief
will you be there to see me leave?
Or will you hide away once more
behind your towering carven door?
I can not carry on this way
my heart it longs to hear you say
The words I know can never come
For I shall never call you home.
Your heart is gone I felt it fly
You have no need to speak the lie
I will depart to distant shores
and you shall hear of me no more.

Picked at random and pleased I did. Was choked up at the end of this one! Agree with Saffie: the rhyming scheme works well here, but then, I would say that!

Another sad and touching story, filled with emotions which leave us lost. I like how you have used a rhyming scheme here for this poem, which helped with the flow. I also like the questions being repeated throughout, I think it shows the state of mind at the time, when there are so many unknowns, so many answers we seek but cannot find them, and so in the end we give up, we stop expecting, and in this case, run away from it.

It reminded me that running away is maybe not the answer, but when we feel we will know the answer, and know it will not be the one we want, running away and having some control over leaving, is easier than being told the truth and finding out the answer for real.

I liked this and could relate to it, you portray your feelings well.
