What if I want to Die?

by Dakota   Jun 30, 2014

This blade I hold in my hand...
Is my only friend
I feel lost and lonely
I can't help but think "If only"
I start cutting deeper and deeper...
I feel death coming closer and closer...
Feeling nothing but the pain of this blade
If only I can be saved...
I fake a smile everyday
What will you say...
If you seen these cuts on my wrist...
No one ever cared enough to save me from the self-hate
Why can you see this is my fate...
What if I want to die...
No one will care if I cry
I'm sorry I had to make you so very sad...
But this is not my place mom and dad...
I guess I lost my fight
Just please hold on tight...
I just can't take this world anymore
This is it I'm too sore...
I have to die
This is my last good-bye...

The capitalization of every first line is distracting to me, but this is a personal decision and is much like many modern poets (however with a piece this powerful and heartbreaking I truly believe it would do you better to not capitalize all of them.) I like the way you trail off every few lines. Like you are trying to give more of a pause than a line break would and it also formed your voice too (which is a skill many poets seem to ignore and forget...)

    I thoroughly enjoyed this piece.
