Piece of you

by Gabrielle   Jul 3, 2014

They say nothing worth it is ever easy,
I am finding that to be true,
because there is nothing easy about loving you.

I have you then lose you again and again,
Why don't we say "whatever" and call it what it is;
Would you keep playing the lottery
If you knew you'd never win?

Here I am waiting on you,
to do exactly what I need from you,
I am sleeping all alone again,
knowing you will never change in the end.

I wait around, for you to call,
to discover you're like the rest of all,
thanks for showing who you are,
before I went into far.

I love you and it hurts to even say it;
it is turning into nothing but a sad regret.
I wake up every morning after dreaming about us,
the memories we made when I thought we were in love.

I know you aren't coming for me,
I am no princess in a tower,
I am growing cold and lifeless,
My heart is turning black and sour.

Life is not a fairy tale and never will be,
You struggle to find a man then discover even love isn't free.
It comes with a price and that price is a piece of you.
