A Lover's Lullaby

Never again will I see
your eyes gazing into mine,
nor fall asleep to the sound
of your voice whispering
our dreams.

Love escapes from
my bleeding heart
and reality hides from
the pain.

Emotions run deeper
than a river as I drown
within myself.

Longing for your whispers
to be the last voice I
hear tonight;

the sweet sound of my
lover's lullaby kissing
me softly to sleep.

    This was simply worded, but tugged on the heartstrings. I also thought it had a good flow, very soft and graceful. I liked many aspects of this poem such as this lover's lullaby "kissing" you, their voice whispering both of your dreams (almost like breathing life into them), and how you still love, almost like you can't keep it within your heart, it just escapes and you cannot help but feel those overwhelming emotions that are so real and alive.
