Again

All alone again;
She sought purpose in life,
dancing on the thin bonds
of shallow, hypocritical friendship.

She danced forward across the thin line
between trust and betrayal,
hoping to meet a saviour.

But not every stranger
is a soul-mate, or even a friend;
And the bond severs, leaving her alone

Again.

All alone again.
Rushing past blank faces
on crowded streets of
this concrete jungle
closing in on her,
and she can't breathe.

Again.

All alone again.
Praying for sleep
but stuck in nightmares
while wide awake;
Praying for salvation,
a knight in shining armor -
A Messiah who never came.

And she's all alone
again.
