Toy in a Box (Senryu String)

by Maple Tree   Sep 8, 2014

Scarlet lights shining
John pays for Jezebel's smile,
doesn't see her soul.

Lips are never kissed
society brands her scars,
let the money fly.

Her eye's see shadows
night is long, blankets dancing,
her smile is unseen.

Whispers with four sides
unwrapped for filthy pleasure,
a toy in a box.

    This poem is somehow haunting, nostalgic, and sad. I find it feeding my depression right now. It just took me to a place where lonliness and I always meet.

    It really did affect me Andrea..
