Never-ending Circle

by No1ButMe   Sep 20, 2014

An addiction is an addiction

Doesn't matter the kind

Where it consumes your life

And it takes over your mind

Can't sleep through the night

Can't take the time to eat

You say it doesn't control you

But it's the one thing you can't defeat

You find it sneaking in your dreams

Invading your every thought

Quitting, relapsing, quitting, relapsing

In this circle you are caught

Falling, stumbling, fading

Down this never-ending drain

On the clothing of life

It's a permanent stain

Always there to remind you

Of what a failure you are

And although you may seem happy

It's never that far

Whether you like it or not

You can't throw it away

It brans you like cattle

And there it will stay

Because even in recovery

You are still fighting a war

And no matter how many rounds you go

It will always come back for more

And then you think you've passed it

That you have finally won

Then one thought, one action

Has you back where you begun...
