One last call

by Dyce   Sep 27, 2014

I want to get this right, tell you how I feel but what if it turns out to be the worst. Contemplating, pacing and repeating the words to say to you. I want to start of by saying forgive me, for the fact I cannot stop loving you, I know you hate me, I know I hurt you and annoy you. Everywhere you look I'm always there, it makes you so mad but you have the sweetest heart that forgives. I tasted the love your heart gave to me but now you are engaged, sometimes I wonder if there is any hope for me. Don't get married to him, I know you love him for the wrong reasons, you don't love him but your friends forced you to. I missed those chances you gave to me, you kept coming back but I keep going blind not to see you loved me. 10:45, I should probably call before you switch you phone off. Had your number on speed dial, I was too late just because I was scared. One last call became more lonely nights, I wonder if you ever think about me.

The honesty in this piece is amazing, very well penned and great job of sharing your heart with us as painful as that must have been.

As for the word choice here, well chosen. Though this piece is more like prose than poetry, it is well penned regardless. I really enjoyed the flow and how you did not seem to keep anything from the audience even though this was about as personal as any heartbreak piece could be.

    Well done
