Drowning in a sea of unwanted lies.
I reach my sorrow tainted hands towards one shining light,
only to fall deeper when I realize the light was never there in the first place.
Oh ya, they look like they care.
But they don't want to know the real me,
the one bathed in darkness and cocooned in a evil shell.
The one who gave up her pure life for an eternal hell.
Nobody bothered to tell me no, there is light.
Embraced with kindness and satisfaction, where everything's right.
So I ran far away, from where expectations were too great.
To the murky, dark night where I could breath,
but fear and hatred were always my enemy.
Sinking malevolent stained fingers into my guarded heart,
breaking my poor defense and pushing emotional pain through my veins.
Low self esteem was all that was left of me.
So much for being free.
