A Hero's Ending

by js   Nov 26, 2014

You found me at the darkest highway
I know I shouldn't be there
I was led astray.
But I chose that road, the wrong road on the finest period
To lay down myself in the lifeless finale.
To sleep without waking, to come to bitter end.

But your arms were too strong to rescue me around.
Enough to let me know that I am not alone.
Enough to tell me that you are my hero.
But how could you be, when at the end of the day you will only let go?
The place where I should be,
Is where I found you.

My hero is now too cold to hold me
You should be smiling and talking
My conqueror isn't lifeless as that.
But you are there ending up the story
How could a hero leave without a sign?
How could a hero say goodbye?

Now tell me where could I see the sweetest place?
Where I could see no grave
'Cause I don't want to see you fading
Loving you is what I long for eternity
Should I lose my way to find you again?
'Cause without you is how everything truly ends.

This poem gave me shivers though the poem is kind of sad. It reminded me of the story of someone I know. It's making me contemplate life. The questions added a nice touch.
