January 9th.

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 6, 2014

You look lovely on a page -
peppered in ink and promise
for this date will swallow
my storm, kiss me upon
smoother sails.

What I'm doing is dangerous,
hustler of a life that should
be a holy grail.

I've pricked my heart
already;
it's too late to pull
the thorns
out.
