More than welcome.

by Poet on the Piano   Dec 14, 2014

I hadn't thought of you all day,
and suddenly one ludicrous message
bleeps at me like a heart monitor
making love to death.

Just in one second I lose control.
Ear pressed to receiver - thunder
the onset of pain, the blades in
my stomach, the love I can't swallow.

I would be at your side if I could.
If I could love you, but you don't know
that I can't.

You don't even know I perceive you
as my guardian.

My mouth meets boulders- two hands -
as I suffocate myself for fear I'll speak
of you.

And the words rehash:

"If you don't have anything to do, tonight"...

I love this piece, the heartbroken guarded nature really hits home but it is penned wonderfully. I love love love the way you ended it with a quote that isnt even complete so the reader can take it anyway they want. Amazingly written
