Coloring Book

by shadow   Dec 19, 2014

We could stay in this moment.
Here, just me and you.
Paint the sky with a crayon,
until it looks a waxy blue.

Take my hand in yours,
and we'll walk along this road.
Past the trees of plastic,
where nothing can corrode.

Our footsteps left behind,
In the mud upon the ground
Acid raindrops washing away,
the secrets we don't want found.

The sun, a strange tint of yellow,
glows brightly in sky.
Its light pushes at the shadows,
as we start to pass on by.

But the darkness does not leave,
and soon it stains our hands.
Like black ink spilled on white paper,
it pools and spreads and expands.

The trees, they turn an ugly grey.
The sky, no longer blue.
The yellow sun begins to fade,
and suddenly, so do you.

Your hand disappears from mine.
The road is no longer there.
Our world, once all our own,
the darkness would not spare.

I am so alone.

This is an amazing write. I love the way you capture every detail and make the reader see it and feel it as if he were the one there. Being alone sucks lol. But I love this piece great job! 5/5

You have the imagery and raw emotion down as a poet. I Respect that as a poet myself.

Loneliness sucks.. I apologize for you having to go through solitude such as that and for that my heart aches. I understand.
