Home From Nam

A Letter To Sharon

Sitting all alone in my bedroom tonight,
Listening to a song that was our delight,
Thinking back to a better time.
When our love was oh so sublime.
When I came home my body was maimed,
When you left I was never the same.
Why did I have to go to Nam?
A capitalist war that was such a sham.
I endured a war that was filled with madness,
My life is now over from all this badness.
Whomever's heart you may be sharing,
In my soul you will always be my dear Sharon.

Sweet poem, I like the title, and how you have related this to the content, and shown the reader what it might be like to be away from home, and then return, but perhaps not as the same person.
