Conditions

The wind dances through the trees
While the stars play upon the water
The thunder begins its song
Singing about the slaughter

The animals now disperse
Their paws ponding on the ground
Frantic cries for help
Echoes from all around

The abrupt strike of lightning
Forces silence among the residence
The lightning smirks from above
As it studies its own excellence

Thunder and lightning
The two peas in a pod
Forever together
Having their very own promenade

The havoc they cause
The lives they take
They believe everything they do
Is anything but a mistake

With smiles on their faces
Victory in their eyes
Are these words I write
Speaking in disguise?

Could the thunder be you?
And the lightning, your actions?
The choices you make
Are they to your satisfaction?

You don't have to be the storm
You can walk a different path
Be the rainbow that comes later
You're the cause of your wrath.
