Stolen.

Waiting for you

is praying so hard that
my eyes burn, palms
bruise, eyes twitch
from searching for you
in the sun before it
sets without me.

waiting for you
is
letting you go.

my theoretical hopes
once
twice
seized...

lying to myself.

    Waiting for you

^^I was wondering why the gap here but then it creates that anticipation feel, the one that you know which is not going to happen followed by the next stanza.

    is praying so hard that
    my eyes burn, palms
    bruise, eyes twitch
    from searching for you
    in the sun before it
    sets without me.

^^I could see a heart breaking parent here searching for his/her child from dawn to dusk with hope, with faith...faith that seems to crumble in between. I find this stanza so moving...

    waiting for you
    is
    letting you go.

^^Here though that image changes. Either the child has gone away and its best to let go; or the person whom you long for is no more maybe physically and you are learning to accept that and let go.

    my theoretical hopes
    once
    twice
    seized...

    lying to myself.

^^I guess there comes a moment in each of our lives that we realize all this hope is just a mirage..for we know that person is not going to return yet we still hold on...lying to our self. Maybe my interpretation is wrong here but that is the feel I get from this write...take care.
