Run

by Once an Angel   Mar 26, 2015

Run.
The door is open,
the die is cast,
the end now certain,
the time is done.
Run.

The line is crossed,
the base invaded,
the battle lost,
the victory forfeit,
so Run.

Run.

Run.

It is not safe here.
I cannot protect you
from this, my shadow self.
The enemy and I
have joined hands to die,
united in common interest,
so turn around
and Run.

Run.

Don't stop for me,
don't turn back,
just Run.

Run.

The ship is sinking,
tattered and holed,
destined
for the ocean's depths.
No life boats floating,
to bring you back home.
There is no safety,
here with me so
Run.

Run.

Run.

I have put down my weapons,
given into the enemy
against whom I cannot win.
The river to hell is forded,
by strokes I made myself.
With no rescue arriving,
and right long not decided,
leave me now and
Run.

Please. . .
Run. . .

I will not see you on the other side,
there is no time to say goodbyes,
excuses and explanations
will not justify,
so Run.

Run.
Fly from here.
Run.

Run.
Run from me,
Run for me,
Run away.

Run.
