Run and you die

Run and you die is the consensus of the right.
They deny the human response of fight or flight.
The deputy is given a license to kill
The extreme judges blame the gift of free will
To err is human and to forgive is divine
even the senator's son has stepped out of line
If a sixth sense had allowed Samantha to see
her mother believes she'd be here with you and me
Precious life taken in less than twelve steps, alas
may wounds of the family heal as time does pass

    I feel this poem is connected to the last one I read.
    It's a sad reality. I like the rhymes on this one. The flow on this poem goes really well. The only nit pick (sorry, I usually have one - even with my own poems, it can be annoying even for myself ), but on the last line, is the "does" necessary on that line? As time does pass? I think it might be, due to the rhyme. If it didn't have it, it would go like as time passes.

    Other than that, I like the voice in this poem.

    This piece speaks volumes and is so true. Justice nowadays are hardly get. It is better to run and just die than to face it 'cause same things will just happen. The innocent will be detained, and the criminals are free. I love the characters in this piece... makes this more realistic. It is just sad that It is also easy to get a gun nowadays, so accessible. But people are not responsible enough for that. They will just kill whoever they want. And what's worst is those who can legally use guns and shoot are sometimes the most irresponsible ones. We cannot always say it's an accident when lives are lost. Wonderful write!
