Siren of Sleep

by Kakera   Jun 24, 2015

The cacophony of machines
singing in circles of destruction
and rebirth in new forms
disturbs my sleep
yet another morning

the noise of Life itself
is tearing my ear drums apart,
and I'm bleeding, love,
I'm ever still bleeding,
it never seems to stop

Because your voice
is the only siren that
can usher me into sleep,
and the softness of your touch
is the only place of solace
that I've ever known;

but not only am I cursed
by your absence,
but also cursed living
in a world where
even silence itself
is but a wish forlorn.
