Forever Broken

by Baby Rainbow   Aug 29, 2015

Every single statement they make
echoes through my heart,
reminding me of just how little
I will always be worth.

My feelings are always on the run,
trying to find the safest place to hide
on this train track of my life.

Secrets from the dark
come trespassing through,
always weighing on me
as I am barely hanging on.

Every single statement they make
echoes through my heart,
reminding me that I am forever broken -
never to be healed.

Aw Saffie, my heart goes out to you in this. I think it's so easy (yet dangerous) to fall into the lie that you are forever broken, or incapable of being healed. I know the ability to see one's own worth is something every person has to come to. Personally, that's a challenge for me especially if other people try to determine your worth. But no one can. Through this piece, I heard those echoes. Even though I don't know what "they" said or who "they" are, it's like the memories that may haunt us all. The times we want to forget. The times we don't feel safe.

But there can be healing found. Take care.

Time heals all wounds and a broken heart can be restored. We all have secrets but the truth sets us free. I have learned we can run from it but the past will catch up with us. Thank you for sharing.
