Madness Lost , then everything is lost.

by J Nair   Oct 6, 2015

Like a deceased mind, bitter words spewing out,
I was running around, fighting shadows, no one saw.
I ran and ran and sometimes stayed back and fought,
Ranted and raved and broke down and cried.
Curled up like a fetus, when I felt the kick hit my gut,
When I could take it no more,
I stretched out and howled.

Anybody out there, can anybody help?
Hands stretched out I pleaded to be let out.
Undeciphered minds, blank masks walked past
Deaf ears and blind eyes was all that I got.

I found myself standing on the precipice of life,
Either succumb to the madness or make that jump.
I had made up my mind, no retracing my steps,
Abyss it shall be, Abyss it shall be.

Then in a distance, like a whistle of a train.
Somebody whispered spirituality heals pain.
Ripples spread in the stillness of my soul
With a closed mind and a blind eye, I stumbled towards it.

New teachings and practices I imbibed.
For a while it felt, I had walked into the light.
Meditations and healings, helping others felt right.

But when novelty wore off, everything was lost
No Demons to fight with, no love to embrace.
No passion, No emotion, No madness in sight.
A surreal detachment was all that was left.

Wonderful write! Love those lines about the whistle of the train, someone whispered spirituality heals pain-excellant! We are alike in that you tell a story with rhyme, I love that all the time, keep up your great work, I judged it and I'm no jerk!

This is a stunning and very relatable write for a lot of people, I would imagine. I love the repetition of Abyss it shall be Abyss it shall be - very moving.
Well written and a great read - I would nominate this if I had some votes left!
    All the very best,
    Ben
