The Children Echo

by Baby Rainbow   Oct 25, 2015

The children echo in silence,
tears dripping without permission,
as their bones shiver and tremble
against the damp concrete floor.

Surrounded but alone,
their road to get here has been so long,
so dark that they have no light of hope
in their eyes anymore.

All they wanted was one opportunity
to be loved in this world,
instead, they became the saddest children
in the world,
getting sold to every address,
for things they were too young to understand.

The children echo in silence,
tears dripping without permission,
as they silently drift into a dream
where death will take them
to a better place.
