A Heart At Doubt:

by Scott Cole   Nov 22, 2015

My eyes sweat with exhaustion
I'm battered and badly bruised,
My heart cries for more attention
Yet my mind is still left confused.

My last breath is but borrowed
And I labor whenever I breathe,
My outer appearance is normal
Cause my aching pains lie beneath.

My ears are unable to hear a lie
Nor my lips can never say no,
It's all the games that I've played
That cause my love not to grow.

My hand is shaking from the fear
That the same routine will repeat,
And my pitter patter of a heartbeat
Is full of mistreating and deceit.

My confidence is frail and weakish
And my shy voice is soft spoken,
I don't know how to fall into love
Because my heart is always broken.

My thoughts are full of confusion
And my head is full of fantasy,
A cross between the two of them
Only leaves myself in so much misery.

All my love life has experienced
Has left me bitterness and blind,
And a whole lot of spare moments
That will help me to heal and unwind.

For love is much more than a touch
It's more than a physical attraction,
And it's more than saying I Love You
It's putting that I Love You in action.

My first ever poem I wrote was called ... Love is!! :) I think you'd like it. It's a simple poem ... but it's about love in action! Lol.

This is a lovely sentimental and I feel a heartfelt piece... about love.

    Very well written and expressed.
    Touches the heart <3

Another strong story in a beautifully flowing poem, Scott. You really do have a way with rhyme. A sad write Scott but a very good one.
Well done and all the best,

I was very touched by this.A broken heart can be fixed, it takes time.Often we allow anger.hurt and pain get in the way from regrowing love. Well written and all the best
