I Miss You

by Rosamay   Jan 27, 2016

I can't pretend that
you're here,
when you are gone.

I miss you ..

You may not know that
you were all I had,
all I ever wanted,
and all I loved.

Now I sing this lullaby
to you ..

My words hurt you,
and tore out your
broken heart.

I never meant to
harm you in any way.

You understood me in a way
that no other could,
I mislead you in
a path that I never intended
to bring you.

I never meant to put
you through hell ..

I miss you ...

Now I end this lullaby
with an apology to you..

I miss you,
and I am sorry.

    Lilith,

Such a sad piece. Emotional and full of regrets, we all have those.

I think the message in this poem is short and to the point, repetitive but necessary, and works well to express regret and sorrow over the loss of someone we wish we still had.
