Wavering

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 7, 2016

Your love staggers through the winter air
as I watch it waver in space.
This goodbye feels so uncertain,
yet I know it is for real.

I thought what we had was special,
but its unfortunate that our love
was not protected by eternity.

How could my sight have been so distorted?
If I look closer into the heart of us,
I can hear that the sirens were there all along.

I struggle to be thankful for our love,
wondering why you happily watched us ascending,
just to stand back and watch us crash and burn.

A gem of a line there, Saffie.

A sad tale and one I understood and sympathised with when I got to the end.
It doesn't matter how wonderful we thought a love was, if it comes crashing down and burns us in the process, it is very difficult to ever look at it in any positive fashion again.

All the very best and take care,
    Ben
