Distorting Us

by Baby Rainbow   Mar 2, 2016

Where is the sense in pretending
that these long lost years don't matter?

I thought we would always soar together,
but I guess you thought differently
about the future.

You left our destiny
nestling between your fingertips -
breaking the trust,
and I can only surrender
to the changing directions you control.

I want to distort the image of us
so I can entirely redesign how we are,
and explore where some of our love
became a mystery.

But I simply believe
that you are so close to collapsing into dust,
and I am still yearning
for your shadow to reappear.
