There's No Tomorrow

by J Young   Apr 3, 2016

"You want to go boarding?
I've got skis you can borrow."
"I've got a recording.
Let's do it tomorrow."

Pam was a singer,
Focused on her career.
She had a ring on her finger,
She received from Amir.

Amir was a lawyer,
Their marriage unraveling.
And due to his employer,
He often was traveling.

As they ate dinner,
Planning Kilimanjaro,
A hike not for a beginner,
Pam said "Let's do it tomorrow."

Then she got a text.
She had to fly out to Japan.
And what happened next:
They cancelled their plan.

The years passed them by,
Pam eaten by stress.
Neither asked why,
It was worth the "success."

One day Amir had his answer,
But only found sorrow.
Now she has cancer,
There's no tomorrow.

Such a good story written here with a great meaning behind it.

Live for today as you never know when there will be another day.

Thanks! I hope my message inspires you. Don't mean it to be a downer, just wanted to say "cherish every day you have with someone."

Hello J and a belated welcome to the site.

This is an important story, well told and well rhymed. The message is excellent: Don't keep delaying - there may not be a tomorrow.

Keep writing and all the best
    Ben
