When It Rains It Pours:

by Scott Cole   May 5, 2016

If you could see what I've seen
Through these blue eyes of mine,
A lifetime of things gone wrong
For my eyes a waste of time.

So go ahead and take a glance
From down deep inside my soul,
Where dark and dampened hallways
Chase light through two pinholes.

I slowly approach her blue eyes
That are rough around the edges,
Where those water stains of sorrow
Have but waterlogged both lenses.

I peer through her windows of pain
That are striped with shades of red,
From years after years of torment
All those heartaches that she shed.

I see the reason for all her damages
Yes the answer for all her pains,
It's the abuse that she encounters
From those break-ups that bring rain.
