6's & 7's

by Cantchangeme   May 25, 2016

Put yourself inside the six
Reach down and pull up the zipper on my skin
Feel the air crystallize
Taste the ether, breathe me in

Your iris is as wide as mine
Are those planets I see shining in the dark
Life existing in a Petrie dish
Plastic needles find their mark

Pull me back into the seven
Bracken breaking me as I fall on through
Scratch the tree, keep the tally
One gouge for me, A groove for you

Please don't save me Frankie
Your arms are broken your hands are tied
This warm liquid soothes me under
The waves that touch the other side

I agree with everything Michael (Mr Darcy) says.
I write a lot of rhyming poetry but get so caught up with getting the rhyme as close to perfect as I can that the content or figurative language often suffers.

    Great piece,
