First Real Fight

by deeplydesturbed   Jul 18, 2016

My skin is beginning to rip,
my blood begins to drip
my heart is beginning to skip
I've got to get a grip.
Life held at my fingertip,
here comes the guilt trip.

Promises are being broken
Silent words are suddenly spoken.
This should have been foretoken
Doors you made me break wide open
Feelings that laid dormant, now awoken,
Do you feel better now you have provoken?

Tonight I am alone
after slamming down the phone.
Our argument had only grown.
A tear slides down my cheekbone.
This is only one milestone,
since stepping into the "love zone".

I told you it would be hard
due to my heart being so scarred.
I finally let down my safeguard
only for us to have a fight in my own backyard
I feel like my heart just got charred,
but I shouldn't approach you with such disregard.

I'm sorry I cut myself tonight
Right after our first big fight
All this time you were my knight
keeping myself from entering into the light.
I am sorry I got so uptight
I guess we will sort it out tomorrow, for now it's just goodnight.
