Silent Souvenir

by Baby Rainbow   Aug 9, 2016

I miss the look in your eyes
that told me everything would be just fine.
You were the one person I felt safest with,
believing I was wrapped inside a love with no expectations.

You said you wanted me to be happy,
promised you would stay with me
until my wings began to soar,
but now I know your pointless promises
were nothing but lies,
because you abandoned me mid-flight
before you even gave me the chance
to try and fly.

We never did any of our dreams and plans together,
like we always said we would,
and it seems like you are making
no attempts to come back for me,
since this silence still remains as the only souvenir
from the love that we once had.
