Bleeding Darkness

by Baby Rainbow   Aug 10, 2016

In the darkness of that one desperate moment,
many years ago,
I found safety I wish I never came to know.

I hoped one day I would recover,
instead of falling on broken wings,
landing in a dark room inside my head
with images and pain I can't forget.

It hurts so much inside sometimes
that I overdose on the pain,
let the blade sink in as deep as your goodbye,
whilst splashes of blood start crawling
down the narrow streets of my stone arms.

Finally,
when the blood turns dark enough,
I know my numb heart
begins to feel something again.
