Beautiful Poison

by stormingdance (Lessa)   Aug 16, 2016

Falling to the ground, gently losing control,
A rose completes its transformation,
Losing an internal, emotional battle.

A rose is wilted of life
By its very own thorns
A succulent juice
Seeps through her pours.

A beautiful poison
Destroying her world
A suffocating depression
Eating at her personage.

Wing-like leaves
Shred into a million pieces
As a rose struggles to survive.

Vain and sorrowful
It fails to fly
And dreadfully plummets
To the world below.

Lachrymal struggles to escape
But so vain is her soul
That she fails to reconcile with herself
And refuses to lose what dignity is left.

Tolerance for despondency
Is a virtue in today's world
For without, suicide will surely follow.

A rose so rich with materials
But so lonely to the core
Faces the world
With a stone face.

A lonely secret
Locked with a soul
A beautiful poison
Creeps through her veins.

The only thing to remain
Is her forgotten, lonely soul.
