A Fable

by Nobody   Aug 20, 2016

Once upon a time
there lived a girl

One day she discovered
a forest so lush and green
As far as the eye could see

And found hidden
behind the leafy curtain
thousands of paths to choose from

Some would curve
and others would twist
whilst a few would turn

Her feet were unsure
which road to take
So she sat to contemplate

Soon minutes turned
To hours, while hours
turned to days and days turned to years

And all the while
the girl stood still.

    This is an unusual poem.
Life presents many paths to us. Some wind and some are straight, metaphorically speaking. I suppose we have to be careful and consider which is the right one to take, but eventually, we do have to make a decision or we spend our lives in a sort of indecisive purgatory, achieving nothing and too scared to act. (my thoughts on this anyway)
