The Lake at Nighttime

by Someone Invisible   Sep 26, 2016

I walked into that murkey lake
with my mouth wide open,
taking deep breathes till i breathed no more.
Til I floated gently face down;
skin colder than ice.
Face bluer than the water.

My hair danced in the water
Glistening in the moon light
I gave myself to the cold darkness;
Til I lost my way completely
Arms stained a beautiful red
Heart bruised a pretty purple.

My pale skin surrendered to the blade
Breaking under the pressure i applied
It opened up slowly and painfully
Til blood run down my fingers
Warm against my icey wrist
The contrast brought me back to life.

And I took this journey every night.
