Fragile Soul

by Emma from the Netherlands   Oct 12, 2016

You were none existent
Not among the living
Then one day your mom and dad created you
After nine months you were born
You were a little baby
Not knowing anything about the world
Now, 29 years later
You know a lot more
A lot more than before...

A fragile soul
Walking around
Taking life as it comes
Not wanting to be found

Not by the haters
Not being judged
Not by fast conclusion drawers
She hated that so much

Life putting her to a test
High school a hell
Fighting within
Inside her shell

She barely held it together
But never gave up
She always knew
She'd never stop

Tears streamed
Down her face
All she wanted
Was a warm embrace

Saying things will be all right
In the end they'll be okay
So all the pain would be worth it
And some of the tears would go away

All she had to do
Is hold on
Despite the pain
Then she could say she won

Dragging herself to school
Year after year
Wearing a mask
She was so near

Almost there
A few weeks away
Hold on fragile soul
Soon will be the day

The day that you'll graduate
You might not believe
You graduated
What a relief
