Maricolous

I had a dream I was swimming
The waters were black and cold
With every breath it's stinging
There's nothing there to hold

I pray to anyone that will listen
Please throw me a raft
but hope's made of fiction
The heavens are understaffed

There's so many tears
And people with pleas
The heaven's ears are shut
Religion's a bad disease

So I'll wad alone in the ocean
Drifting off to sea
Waiting for emotions
To return back to me

I once could walk on water
Crossing one ocean to the next
I made a difference in the worl
I created worldly effects

But now I'm just a buoy
Being pushed further out to nothing
I make no difference now
The heartache has been crushing

This isn't what I wanted
My life for you and me
You deserve someone useful
Not drowning out at sea

I really like this, I think a lot of people can relate to this. My favorite is the second stanza, you are really getting your point across of not being heard and just wishing someone would reach out to you and give you some help.

Great poem for your first time back in many years! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great rhyming, too!

Be sure to check out the stanza
"I once could walk on water
Crossing one ocean to the next
I made a difference in the worl
    I created worldly effects"

I'm pretty sure you meant WORLD instead of WORL.

    Otherwise, great job!
