Saving Grace

by Nobody   Nov 2, 2016

You keep your cards so close to your chest
It's wonder you have any friends?

Built those walls up so high
Do you remember the view of the skies?

You've kept your heart ice cold
Does it even have a pulse?

Wearing a collection of masks
I doubt you recognize your own reflection

You push push push people away
And have the audacity to ask why you're alone.

I understand, the world has dealt you a heavy hand
Nothing but a deck full of hurt

You look like you could use some saving
Even if you won't cry for help

But, trust me, I am no fool
I refuse to save you.

This is very powerful and meaningful...

1: When you keep things so close it shows there's been previous hurt and possible heartache which need Ms to be helped by friends but I have come to realise that many of us keep things close and lose friendships, unfortunately because we worry that we will be judged.

2: I love this, the imagery of a person stood on walls they have built to stop people getting in, so high that they reach the skies.. The thing is we never remember how the skies look because we are in a blur..

3: Again a fabulous stanza.. Hurt leaves us feeling cold and numb and sometimes not living because everything passes in a blur but somehow we get through.

4: We all have certain mask's we wear usually so that people think we're ok but they aren't usually that good at hiding what's in the eyes, they tell all.

5: I can really relate to this wondering why and feeling so alone yet push people away and I think unfortunately we can all relate to this which is horrible as we push people away sometimes unintentionally to see if they care.

6: We all recognise the 'lost souks' even if they dont cry out for help and even of they do sometimes they get ignored, I have been there.

7: Powerful. If people will not help themselves then
    How can we help them??

    Great write. Em
