Waiting no more

by DarkLight   Nov 5, 2016

In her eyes lay salt crystals of regret,
pain trying to escape her heart.
Choking words distracted her from seeing what stood in front,
kept soothing her to calm.
He stood there waiting to be recognized,
even after meaning with every
'I love you'
that had been said reaching,
over a thousand times and never tiring.
Broken,
he took a step back
letting go off her hand,
turned and on his way he went.
Set to find another lover in a more accommodating world.

Shanky, this is somewhat mysterious, beautiful and definitely sombre but you write it well full of emotions and lovely though sad imagery.

The opening here is so hard hitting that you want to read on and find out what happened to this poor lady. The image of her pain trying to escape was sad but very mystical because wouldn't it be great if we could get this for real; people showing pain, love etc through their heart. Then you have it (I think) a long distance thing gone totally wrong and he has gone to find a more suitable companion who he can probably hold close leaving his girl behind and pining for him with pain throughout her.
I do feel there is a word missing after 'over a thousand'
    All the best.

    Brother,

I feel you... sometimes we are waiting to be recognized, but the sad thing is, it's very tiring if it's only you who is holding for the love...cheers to this...sad yet powerful moving piece
