Living Your Life

by Meena Krish   Nov 22, 2016

You left behind a cupboard full of advices
yet failed to warn that life is unpredictable,
I've learnt that everything comes with a price
and if something does break its not fixable;

You never cautioned me about the seasons
which boldly comes out to show its colors,
I witnessed things happen without a reason
as I faced alone many enraged summers;

I tracked your every word, lived your dreams
and buried my desires under each cruel winter,
your departure wrenches my heart to scream
leaving me a life filled with thorns and splinters.

    Hi Meena, This poem is quite beautiful and sad at the same time. I felt the heartbreaking sadness as I read each line. You are very descriptive here which helps the reader understand the depth of your pain. Thank you for sharing this. It is just beautiful

    Meena this is really sad but so beautifully done that it pulled me in and I felt exactly how you felt whilst writing this or whilst it happened... Which I believe makes a fantastic poem and I expected nothing else when I opened up this from you as your writing is always beautifully done.

    1: This is a fabulous opening and I like the idea of someone leaving their advice in a cupboard full to the brim but unfortunately it was unable to help.. Has, everything comes with a prove but something's are able to fix if we work at them of course.

    2: This is absolutely stunning and my fave stanza. Sometimes things happen and we're unable to stop them, other times we are more fortunate.

    3: Wow, this ending is rather powerful and painful and I want to scream with you as I know how this hurting feels, when you think you have it all then infact find that we have nothing at all because that particular person never cared or didn't care as much as they should have and to be filled with thorns and splinters shows how much then leaving hurts.
    Your words are truly beautiful and very moving.

    Take care, Em

    Meena, so beautifully sad. I felt so much yearning in this. It's so very hard to live through another. We put ourselves aside and just exist. I understand, you have conveyed this beautifully.
