Tranquility

by Debra Ponsaa   Jan 23, 2017

The moon glistens brightly upon the water;
a shimmering path to tranquility.

In the distance, a halyard fumbles in the
darkness, awkwardly hoisting a sail.

Soon, the wind and sail take flight;
dancing amidst the moon's water glow.

For a moment in time, you realize that the
only distance between contentment and
despair is where land and water part.

In an instant, the pains from long ago
and from far away places take flight;
dancing amidst the moon's water glow.
