Swing Chandelier Swing

by Andrew Packard   Jan 20, 2013

Majestic Chandelier,
Spreads across the Room.
Fills the Upper Air,
Like the Heavens Loom.

Shines Dazzling the Eye,
Draws all Attention.
Takes Breath Inner Sky,
Splendor Creation.

Whether due to faulty motor,
Or another Poltergeist Specter.
What began to Happen,
No one could Fathom.

Turned on its Fulcrum,
As it jerked and Spun.
Driven like Phantoms,
Crashing where it Hung!

Spinning Dynamo,
Collapsing Penthouse.
Sparks arcing Aglow,
Bringing Down The House ......

Author notes
I wrote this while taking a class of First graders to see the symphony at Cincinnati's Music Hall Tuesday morning October 9th, 2012. And admiring their great Chandelier ....
