Mother In Law (acrostic)

by Meena Krish   May 13, 2013

Mother is what she has always been to me
Over the years showing and teaching many a thing,
There are moments we surely disagree
However, we still manage to stay on life's swing,
Errors small or great she has the heart to forgive
Reining a smile to heal the burn of guilt

In every little situation a lending hand she gives
Nothing can tarnish the goodness that is built,

Letters and words to praise are no match for a mother
A lavish gift or simple hug can never replace this love
Which lifts even the darkest fog with just her presence.

Acrostics can be easy to write though to some they are not. However, what I like about this poem is the simplicity and also the straightforwardness. How often times do we hear people complaining about their mother in law? I mean I heard people making jokes about it, others complaining so much that it surprised me to see this acrostic. And it also gives me hope that who knows perhaps someday I may be bless with a mother in law like the one described in the poem. I also enjoyed the rhymes that were incorporated within this piece. Despite the restriction caused by the rhymes and the acrostic form, the poem successfully delivered a lovely and heartfelt thought about Meena Krish's mother in law.

"Errors small or great she has the heart to forgive" This part is very deep, showing that her forgiveness directly comes from heart.
"Letters and words to praise are no match for a mother" Whatever we write is never enough compared with what she donates and gives of her endless love and tenderness all to plant that smile on our lips creating happiness.
    Excellent write 5/5

Let me start off by saying, you are lucky! I can't stand my (future) Mother-In-Law! LOL!

I do hope you have let her read this, I'm sure she adores it if you have and will cherish it forever!

One little typo I seen, I think 'Erros' is supposed to be "Errors"

    other than that, perfect acrostic!

    Lovely!
